CoTwo Board Butter is our own blend of food-grade mineral oil and food-grade beeswax, both sourced here in New Zealand. Every batch is gently melted and blended by hand in our Christchurch workshop, then hand-poured into its tin to set.

The mineral oil soaks deep into the timber to stop it drying out, cracking or warping. The beeswax stays near the surface, sealing in that moisture, helping to repel water and leaving a soft, natural satin sheen. It's the finish we use on every board in The Gaelic Collection, and it's just as good for any wooden board, butcher block, spoon or bowl in your kitchen.

Each tin is laser-engraved front and back on our own fibre laser, with these instructions on the base, so you'll always have them to hand.

How to use

  • Prep: Ensure a clean and dry surface.
  • Application: Using a clean, lint-free cloth, rub the wax in following the grain. Buff back with another lint-free cloth or buffing pads.
  • Apply 2–3 coats, sparingly. Allow 30 minutes between coats, and buff between coats.
  • Maintenance: Assess every 3–6 months, depending on wear. One coat will do for maintenance. Use sparingly.
