CaomhanAmerican Black Walnut, White Ash & Purpleheart Cutting Board
The Gaelic Collection · CTD-G-0010Pronounced KUH-van · meaning “gentle / kind one”
There is only one of these, and there will never be another.
Caomhan is a board of two halves. One side is a single broad panel of deep, chocolate-toned American black walnut, its grain flowing the full length of the board. The other is pale, straight-grained American white ash, divided by three crisp pinstripes of vivid purpleheart. It's a calm, bold layout, and no other board in the collection shares it, so the board you see in these photos is the board you'll receive.
Every board gets its own Scottish Gaelic name, inlaid into its side. This one is Caomhan (pronounced KUH-van), meaning "gentle" or "kind one", the Gaelic counterpart of Kevin. Each name is used only once, so it's a mark of a one-off piece made to be used and handed down.
